Book Review: The Scorpio Races

The Scorpio Races
by Maggie Stiefvater

My Rating:

The Scorpio Races  is told from the persectives of Sean Kendrick and Puck Connolly. Every year on their island a race is held on the water horses that surface every fall. Sean, a returning champion of the races, has an important reason to race again this year. Puck, the first female ever to race, has her own reasons. The two strike up an unlikely friendship as the story races forward.

I could not put this book down. I loved how it was written from both Sean's and Puck's perspectives. The story line is well written. The story makes you feel like it could actually happen but enough fantasy to give it a new twist. A story about courage, standing up for yourself, family, and friendship; I would recommend this book to any teen, boy or girl.
